President’s Message

Since its first production in 1957, the Turkish steel pipe industry has continued to grow and has achieved a significant position worldwide. Since 2010, Turkey has become the largest welded steel pipe producer in Europe and the fifth largest in the world. In the 2016 global steel pipe production rankings, Turkey rose to become the fourth largest welded steel pipe producer in the world, following China, Russia, and South Korea. In addition, Turkey ranks as the fourth largest exporter of welded steel pipes globally, after China, South Korea, and Italy. In 2018, Turkey produced 4.45 million tons of steel pipes and exported 1.94 million tons, solidifying its place among the leading countries in the global steel pipe industry.

With an annual production capacity of 7 million tons, the Turkish steel pipe industry is capable of manufacturing all types of pipes — from precision cold-drawn pipes used in the automotive industry to casing pipes used in the oil industry, as well as large-diameter, high-specification pipes for natural gas, petroleum, and energy transmission lines. The Turkish steel pipe industry has the technological strength, quality standards, and efficiency to compete on equal footing with all global competitors.

Turkish steel pipe manufacturers, known for their high-quality products and fast delivery, have become highly sought after in many countries around the world. Having contributed to major projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline, Blue Stream, Shah Deniz, and most recently the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), Turkish steel pipe producers have proven their quality and reliability globally. Today, steel pipes produced in Turkey are used in over 140 countries worldwide.

Going forward, the Turkish steel pipe industry aims to rank among the top three countries in the world in terms of steel pipe production and exports.
